Hi, Janet,
I am so sorry for very delayed response. I never posted a full tutorial or pattern because we kind of just “wung it.”
I know this doesn’t help you at all. My mom and I used a canvas bag that I had as a template. I am sorry that I don’t have a tutorial for you. Next time, I will make sure that we slow down and take some pictures — we got wrapped up in the production of the bag!

Hi, Eve,
I used the diapers so water (and dirt) would not just come dripping out the bottom of the planters. I also found that because the diapers hold water, the plants didn’t have to be watered as often.

They haven’t been getting black from the the latch, but did you try throwing them in the wash?

I read two 2 inch elastic pieces but I had to cut mine 4 inches each to get them over the doorknobs.
Thank you for this– I love our quiet doors.
